Clinical services
Taking a non-judgmental yet honest approach, I work with clients to help them discover their strengths and find where their decision making may limit their opportunities. I actively facilitate the development of skills to enable them to achieve a more fulfilled and constructive lifestyle.
I specialise in:
depression
anxiety
trauma
relationship issues
challenging behaviour
parenting support
anger
stress
work burnout
grief
cognitive assessments
For private clients, I also offer neurodevelopmental assessments (for example ID, ADHD, ASD and FASD), cognitive assessments (for example learning difficulties or memory problems) and provide psychoeducation as well as therapy sessions for parenting children with challenging behaviour.
Training and consultancy
Psychoeducation and skills training for parents, professionals and residential staff in behaviour.
• FASD parenting/caregiver training
• FASD - neurodisability professionals training
• Supervision
I utilise a best practice approach that is empirically based offering an objective and balanced opinion. I have a unique perspective of having worked across the breadth and length of New Zealand from Invercargill to Kaitaia, across community and residential settings.
In addition to assessment and intervention, I supervise clinicians across several Government and Non-Government organisations, provide training in group facilitation and supervision, and offer consultant advice on programme design and delivery and specialist service provision.
An area of burgeoning interest of mine is effective interventions with Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), offering intervention from a neurobehavioral approach that incorporates positive behaviour support and holistic models.
